About Dept. of mass communication and journalism, dr. BAMU, Aurangabad in DR. Babasaheb Ambedkar university campus, Aurangabad

This is the biggest journalism department in the state of Maharashtra [India]. Its founding director was late S.M. Garge, renowned social scientist and eminent journalist. Prof. Sukharam Hiwarale was his first colleague. Then noted Marathi acdemician RD. Y.M. Pathan took headship for sometime. In the year 1979 late Dr. Sudhakar Pajoined as the reader and head .Later on Prof. Suresh Puri joined in 1980 and Prof. V.l. Dharurkar joined in 1982 and Prof. Sudhir Gavhane in 1983 . Many hundred students of thid department are presently working in the media, public relations, teachers, television, radio, information and communication experts ,and newspaper editors in Maharashtra.
