About Delight Christian Assembly in Plot No 896, Anna Nagar

Delight Christian Assembly is a branch of the ‘MAGILCHI MINISTRIES’ founded by Rev. Dr. N. Jeevanandam (lovingly called. ’Annan’ – brother Jeeva) after he had this wonderful vision from God on September 07,1957; given below is the account of the vision in brother’s own words….
‘I was born into a Hindu family in the town of Tindivanam in the South Arcot district of South India. I was named Jeevanandam after an elder of the Freethinkers Society. My father was a Freethinker and I too grew up to declare that there was no God. I was proud to wear the black garments of the Dravidian Movement at an early age.
Later while receiving my Teacher training this movement split and I joined the progressive Dravidian Forward Movement known as DMK. As an official of the party I spoke in many public meetings persuading young men to become atheists.
My own life was, however controlled by many awful sins. I gained much praise from people but in my own heart had no real peace. At this point, I received a New Testament from a Christian brother.
Thinking to find mistakes and untruths in the Bible, I started to study it, hoping to further convince my people that there was no God. I could find no mistakes in the Bible, but it found mistakes in me! I read the words of Jesus about adultery and trembled with fear, because my sins were many. I loved the pure character of Jesus Christ portrayed in its pages and felt intensely attracted to Him.
The DMK had adopted the slogan, ‘ One family One God’ and I realised that I now recognised Jesus as that one true God. I began to attend Christian meetings and in one I heard a sermon about the crucifixion. The Holy Ghost convicted me again and I began to weep over my wickedness.
Determined to find forgiveness I started to fast and pray on September 3, 1957 not even drinking water. On the 7th at midnight when I was weary from my fast and from much weeping, a strange thing happened. A bright light shone upon me, so strong that I was forced to close my eyes. I felt unseen hands grip mine firmly and lift me upwards. Then I heard a wonderful voice say,’ My son Jeevanandam I have forgiven all your sins. Come, follow Me’. Opening my eyes a little I found myself to be in a strange place of intense light. I could not look into its brightness. Then to my left side I saw a form resembling myself rolling away. I was afraid and perplexed but the One who held my hand said, ’That is the old Jeevanandam’. Then I knew it was Jesus who held my hand – my own loving Lord.
I got up from my knees after this experience as a new man with a new heart and a new faith. From that day forward I was filled with a new purpose, possessed a new conscience and began to live in a new way with a new joy. On that day weariness was gone, sickness in my body was healed, a new power was mine. Alleluia!
Today I know that my wicked past is forgiven. Jesus has become my Peace, my Righteousness, my Life and my Strength. He is my Heaven. I am sure that Jesus must become the Lord of our homes, of our people and of the whole wide world. I am a witness to the face that whosoever receives Jesus Christ as their Saviour, receives the very best in this world and in the world to come’.
Brother Jeeva having received the commission from the Lord Himself travelled far and wide to carrying the message of salvation. Many thousands received the salvation; many received the water baptism and the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Lord confirmed His word through signs and wonders following in his ministry. Many leading men in the ministry of today were influenced by brother’s ministry. He was a pioneer in organising events and founding new ministries such as Magilchi Ministries, Perinba Peruvizha, All Night Prayer Fellowship, Thiruvasana Pandikai, The Pentecost, Magilchi- monthly magazine, just to name a few.
On October 16, 2006 brother answered his home call. Since then the ministry is continuing under the leadership of his wife Sister Pushpam Jeevanandam.
