২০১৩ সালে বাংলা বর্ষবরণের আনন্দে সমগ্র বাঙালি ছিল মাতোয়ারা৷ সেদিন একটা ই-মেল হাতে পেয়ে বাংলার কয়েক হাজার সংবাদকর্মীর মাথায় বিনা মেঘে বজ্রপাত হয়৷ একটা সাদা কাগজের লেজার প্রিন্টারে ছাপা কয়েকটা অক্ষরে মুহূর্তের মধ্যে কর্মহীন হয়ে পড়েন হাজার হাজার সাংবাদিক, অসাংবাদিক বন্ধু৷

প্রায় একযুগের সাংবাদিকতায় এমন দিন দেখতে হবে, তা আমাদের কাছে ছিল কল্পনার অতীত৷ দিশাহীন অবস্থায় প্রায় প্রত্যেকের পথে বসার পরিস্থিতি সৃষ্টি হয়৷ এক এক করে বাংলাবাজারের অনেক সংবাদপত্র, বৈদ্যুতিন সংবাদমাধ্যমে নেমে আসে কালোছায়া৷ সেই অন্ধকার থেকে বেরিয়ে আসার কোন পথ খোলা ছিল না৷ মাথায় সূর্যের তেজ নিয়ে হাজার হাজার কর্মহীন সংবাদকর্মী, আমাদের সাংবাদিক বন্ধুরা একটা কাজ জোটাতে পারেনি৷

তবু, অদম্য ইচ্ছাশক্তি থেকেই যাত্রা শুরু করি ঘুরে দাঁড়ানোর৷ আর তা থেকেই ‘কলকাতা24x7’ গড়ে তোলার পরিকল্পনা৷ ঘুরে দাঁড়ানোর একটা প্রয়াস৷ যে প্রয়াসে অনেকেই সহযোগিতার হাত বাড়িয়ে দেওয়ার আশ্বাস দিয়েছেন৷ কেউ কেউ মনোবল বাড়িয়ে ‘‘কলকাতা24x7’ আত্মপ্রকাশে সহযোগিতা করেছেন৷ এমন কিছু মানুষের সাহায্যে আজ আমরা আলোর পথ পেয়েছি, যাদের সঙ্গে সংবাদমাধ্যমের কোন সম্পর্ক নেই৷
