About Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology in GST Road,Palayanoor(P.O),Madhurantagam(Tk), Chennai

The formation of the Trust was initiated by the philanthropic spurts exerted by Thiru S. Regupathy, former Minister for State for Home in association with a group of like -minded patrons who are best regarded for their bountiful services to the promotion of education. The avowed objective of the Trust was to provide facilities for innovative higher education with vocational bias.The College unflinchingly marches towards its ultimate dream of becoming a deemed university .Having established an Arts and Science college of excellence, the trust deemed it fit to start an Engineering college and the Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology (KVCET) took birth.

Location:
Nearby Chengalput, 40 miles from Chennai City. The administrative office is located in Kodambakkam, Chennai.

History:
Founded in 2001 by the Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Trust.

GENESIS

Enrollment:
Approximately 2000 students. The campus population is diverse with students from all over India.

Academics:
Degrees conferred include the BE, B.Tech,M.E, MBA and MCA. The College offers ECE, EEE, CSE, IT, Bio-Tech, Automobile and Mechanical Engineering in the U.G level and Computer Science and Engineering, Power Electronics and Drives and Embedded System Technologies at the P.G level.

Faculty:
130 full-time Teaching faculty and 120 Technical support Staff. The student-to-faculty ratio is 15 : 1.

Campus:
63 acres with 8 buildings including an Internet and Xerox Center , fully-equipped Recreation Center, Modern Gymnasium and spacious Auditorium.

Activities:
It has NSS(National Serivice Scheme), YRC(Youth Red Cross), Department of society activities as parts of co-curricular activities. It organizes Seminars, Symposiums, Workshops, Soft skills training, Industrial visits and literary magazine. The College offers intercollegiate and intramural competitions.

Transfer:
60 percent of the College's graduates pursue value added courses and have made agreements with many different colleges and joint admission programs with NIIT and Certification courses like MCP..

Admission:
Anna University, Chennai guidelines assure admission to the College. Prerequisites are required for certain courses. Applications are reviewed on an on-going basis. Admission to programs that specify additional selective criteria may require a review of prior educational performance, standardized test scores and the completion of an appropriate developmental program. It should be noted that admission may necessarily be restricted by limited seat availability.

Community Outreach:
The Division of Corporate and Community Education offers customized training for business and industry; seminars and workshops for individual skill and personal development; youth activities including summer sports and learning enhancement camps; and also provides Inplant Training and Industrial Visits.

Accreditation:
Bio-Tech,ECE and CSE programs are Accredited by National Board of Accreditation. All programs offered by college are approved by AICTE, New Delhi, Affiliated to Anna University,Chennai.
